Daily Devotions for Sunday 28th February, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : PSALM 18

Meditation : take the time and consider this psalm of praise afresh this Sunday morning.
What has God been saying to you from this Psalm?
What words will you hold on to – today and tomorrow?

And then pray in response – using verses 1-3 as you turn to prayer

How I love you, LORD!
You are my defender.
The LORD is my protector;
he is my strong fortress.
My God is my protection,
and with him I am safe.
He protects me like a shield;
he defends me and keeps me safe.
I call to the LORD,
and he saves me from my enemies.
Praise the LORD!

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday

Pray the words of the Prayer for the Month as your own prayer today

God of the journey,
You call us to follow you
Without fear of stumbling,
Your hand held out
To steady the weakest soul.

Grant us faith strong enough
To take you at your word
And, should we struggle,
To know you’re with us along the way.

Through Christ our Saviour
Amen.

Evening
Reading : read Psalm 18 afresh – in another version perhaps?
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response to this God

In my trouble I called to the LORD;
I called to my God for help.
In his temple he heard my voice;
he listened to my cry for help.

O LORD, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for the blessings of this Sunday
As we believe and trust in you
As we pilgrimage on towards tomorrow and a new week

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #offer

As part of God’s Church we have participated in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come each year. This runs during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost…..and this year it will happen May 13th-23rd.

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives.

This week we focus on the theme of OFFER as we pause to pray with others in our nation and across the world.

We are encouraged to pause and take time with the LORD our God on this particular Saturday in February 2021.
To offer to Him…for His Kingdom purposes…in our lives..in our community..in our nation..in our world..

All that we are
All that we have
All that we hope to do
All those we love and care for
