Pause to Pray with Others

On this particular Monday..as the nation journeys through this further stage of Lockdown.. you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.
We are now pausing to pray at 6pm each day instead of 5pm as a result of the recent fresh Call to Prayer across the nation and the world at this time from the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and neighbours

For all teachers in our schools in our villages and towns and cities at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

Daily Devotions for Monday 22nd February, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus, Saviour and Lord

Reading : 1 KINGS 19 verses 1-18

Meditation : take time to consider this part of the Bible and all that happens!
Elijah on Mount Sinai.
What words or images stay with you?
What is God saying to you from His Written Word?

Pray in response to what you have read
Looking again at verse 11-13

O LORD, hear our cry!
Have mercy we ask
Show us where to go
Send us
Even today!
In and through Christ Jesus, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the land and people of Algeria
O LORD, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these words again from 1 KING 19
Reflect on the events and words recorded here and then Pray in response

LORD God, our God, hear our evening prayers,
As we confess our failures
As we lift up to you
Our circumstances
Today
Tomorrow
And others responding to your call
At this time
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
