Daily Devotions for Tuesday December 8th, 2020

Upper Room day – time out in Advent

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : MATTHEW 24 verses 36-51

Meditation : consider all that is said here… at the start of your day.
No One knows the Day or Hour.
What is God teaching/reminding you today?
What is your response?

And then Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to wait before God

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
I have read these words
And now I pray for you to work them out
as a living reality in my life – even today
as I thank you that you are with me
on my journey through life
and beyond!
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
…..and respond to His voice….
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from MATTHEW 24
Reflect prayerfully on these words…. And then pray as your day closes

LORD God, our great God,
For all of today
I thank You,
Even for those things that have caused me fear and concern.
Help me to rest in Your unfailing love and on Your faithful Word
As I wait for tomorrow – and beyond!
As I look around at this world in these days
Have mercy O Lord!
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Call to Evening Prayer

As part of the Kirk’s rhythm of prayer and devotion we invite people to pause and pray each day.

We offer a Daily Devotions Bible reading each morning and a focus for midday prayer.

At this time in your Monday you are invited to pause and pray as the day closes.

You may wish to revisit MATTHEW 24.32-35 and consider what Jesus said here.
You may need to name others before Father God.
You may want to be still with God as you look back on your day.
