A Call to Evening Prayer

As part of the Kirk’s rhythm of prayer and devotion we invite people to pause and pray each day.

We offer a Daily Devotions Bible reading each morning and a focus for midday prayer.

At this time in your Wednesday you are invited to pause and pray as the day closes.

You may wish to revisit PSALM 33.20 and consider the LORD my Shield.
You may need to name others before Father God.
You may want to be still with God as you look back on your day.

A Time to Pray with Others

At this time in your Wednesday and in these changing times you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and colleagues

For those facing uncertainty about a medical appointment

For NHS and Care Home staff in our city

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : PSALM 33 verse 20

Meditation : prayerfully consider these words this morning.
Jehovah-Magen….the LORD my Shield.
What does this mean for you in your life?
What is your response to God’s Word today?

Then pray in response to this God of ours
Thanking Him
Asking Him
Trusting Him

O LORD our God,
Jehovah-Magen
Even today.
In Jesus’ name
Amen and amen!

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on our Leadership Ministry Team at this time
O LORD, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verse again from PSALM 33
Reflect on the words you read and then pray in response to this God

LORD God, the LORD my Shield, our God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for all you have provided this day
As we thank you for your shielding hand this day
As we name others in need at this time
In Jesus’ name, Amen
