Daily Devotions for Sunday 10th June, 2018

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Reading : GENESIS 39 – 41
Meditation : take time and consider these events in Joseph’s life.
Which words or images stay with you?
What is God saying to you from today?

Pray humbly in response – as you look at your own life

Father God,
Thank You for your grace given to me.
Help me to trust You more for all You are doing in the lives of others around me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Midday
Pray for a prison near your home to know God’s blessing
O God of justice and mercy, hear our prayers!

Evening
Reading : read these chapters again from Genesis
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to our God …
Giving thanks for the blessings He has given
O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our prayers
As we return our evening thanks to You.

Thanks #ThyKingdomCome

In our land and across our world last month believers and followers of Jesus were being invited to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be experienced and evidenced anew. This was a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others.

As part of our daily devotional rhythm we are re-visiting the 11 posts on our website and social media pages – at 8am each Saturday – on the themes brought to us by the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture leaders.

Today we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and bring Him our prayers of thanks – for who He is and for all He has done and given!

Please take a few minutes to pray your prayers of thanksgiving this morning.
Thank Father God for the gifts of this past week.
Thank God for all those who come into our buildings at Liberton Kirk.

O LORD our God
Receive our prayers of thanks this morning.

Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Genesis 37
Reflect on the words and events recorded here….. and Pray in response to Father God
Living God, hear our evening prayers.

Oh Father God, have mercy and bless each and all we ask.

O Lord, hear our evening prayers and our response to your Word.
Lead us into and through tomorrow we ask.
