Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : GENESIS 3 verses 1-24

Meditation : consider these verses this morning about Adam and Eve.
What is God saying to you today?

And then Pray in response with honesty and confession

O God,
Hear my prayer.
Forgive me
And help me I ask
To be more like Jesus
In every way.
Amen we pray together this new day.

Midday
Pray God’s hand of blessing on those trapped by a sinful habit
O LORD God, hear our prayers and set each and all free – even today.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again
Reflect on these words and what they mean for you …. and then Pray to this God
LORD God, our God, hear our evening prayers.

Pray God’s blessing on gardeners and scientists in our world
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them each and all real good we ask

Reflect slowly on the words you have just read and pray in response to this God

Daily Devotions for JUNE 2018

‘Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path.’
Psalm 119 verse 105

As the summer months approach and the season of Looking INWARD together moves toward Looking OUTWARD this Autumn, we will be travelling through the Bible in June, July and August – from Genesis to Revelation – and pausing in prayer at our times of Midday Devotion for others in our church family, our city and our world. Please do remember to keep BIG ALPHA on your prayer list as we move together towards this venture in the Autumn!
We are all encouraged to listen for God’s voice as we continue togetherin our ‘rhythm of devotion’ during 2018….even during these Summer months.

The Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday, in the evening… to pray with Him continually through your day and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.
The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information provided fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions.

Pray God’s blessing on TEAR FUND projects overseas that need monies at this time
O LORD God, have mercy – provide – and hear our prayers this day.

Evening
Reading : read these few verses again from Micah 4
Reflect on the words and images …. and pray to the God who is described here.
Hear our evening prayers, O God
As this day ends and tomorrow awaits us.
We believe and trust and hope in You!
