Upper Room day

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God
Reading : EXODUS 5 verse 22 – chapter 6 verse 1

Meditation : consider what is said here in these few verses.… at the start of the day.
What words stay with you?
What is God saying to you today?

And then Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to wait before God

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
I have read these words
And now I pray for you to work them out
as a living reality in my life – even today.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read these 3 verses again
Reflect prayerfully on these words…. And then pray as your day closes
LORD God, our great God,
For all of today
I thank You,
Even for those things that have caused me fear and concern.
Help me to rest in Your unfailing love and on Your faithful Word
As I trust you for tomorrow.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God, the Eternal One
Reading : EXODUS 3

Meditation : take time to carefully consider this chapter as your day starts.
What is God saying to you today from this event in Moses’ life?
What is your response to Him?

Pray in response – for God to speak with you – Person to person

LORD God,
Open my ears
Open my mind
Open my spirit
And
Speak
To me,
Speak
Through me
Even today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those in need of knowing God’s forgiveness
O LORD, hear our prayers at this time of day and have mercy we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from Exodus 3
Reflect on their meaning for you and pray in response…to the God who speaks
O Living and True God, hear our evening prayers
And forgive us where we have ignored Your Word today
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Reading : GENESIS 48 verses 1-22

Meditation : take time to consider these words of blessing as your Sunday starts.
What is God saying to you today from his Word?

Pray in response to what you have read and considered
Including a prayer for God to bless another

O LORD God,
Holy, holy, holy.
In Jesus’ name we ask to know your blessing
For ourselves and those we name before you.
Amen.

Midday
Pray for a church near your home to know Sunday blessings
O LORD God, hear and answer our prayers – even today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening
Reading : read the passage again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …
O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day
And name others before you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come – as in heaven

With the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture starting again next Thursday around our world we are invited to pause and pray this weekend the words of the Lord’s Prayer – for our world..our land..ourselves – that we might see God’s Kingdom come in our land as it is in heaven.

Meditation : take time to consider these words and events this Saturday morning.
What images or words stay with you?
What is God saying to you today from His Word?

Pray in response to Him…for a blessing

Oh Living God,
Our God of blessing,
Thank you for what we read
And all you promise here.
Hear our prayers
And guide us this day we ask
In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer
(See Matthew 6 or online under the Prayer tab on LK website)
Father God of grace and mercy, hear our prayers.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again
Reflect prayerfully on the words and images ….. and then Pray in response
Especially for others who feel lost, in need of being restored or going through a dark valley
Spirit of the Living God, hear our evening prayers at the end of this day
And be with those we name before you.
In Jesus’ saving name, Amen.

Pray God’s blessing on those who pastorally visit others at LK
O LORD God, have mercy on this group and hear our prayers.

Reading : read these words again from Genesis 32
Reflect ….and then pray…..for others in need known to you
O Lord, hear our various prayers at this evening hour
And bless each and all we ask, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
