Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : LUKE 2 verses 1-7

Meditation :   take time and consider these familiar words.

What words and images stay with you?
What is God saying to you today from His Word? What is your response?

then pray in response as your day starts

(Pray your own words to the LORD God
In worship and thanks for what you have read,
In confession and need to be more like Jesus,
And for your city, your town, your neighbourhood
For yourself and for others known to you at this time.) 

O LORD, receive our morning praise and hear our prayers.
We ask in Jesus’ name.

Amen.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on the Night Shelter in our city

O LORD, hear our prayers and give grace and mercy we ask.

Evening

Reading : read these 7 verses again

Reflect on these words and images at the end of your day

and Pray in response to our Father God

O LORD God, hear our evening prayers

Reading : LUKE 1 verses 57-80

Meditation : consider what happens here in these verses.

Try and imagine it all!  What words stay with you? What is God saying to you today?

then pray to Him in response….

O LORD our God,
Thank you for these words
And all they teach me.
May Your Church be a people
Who ever believe in your Word
With the Good News of the Gospel.

In Jesus’ name,   Amen and amen!

Pray God’s blessing on the Social Bite charity in our city

O LORD, show mercy and hear our prayers.

Evening

Reading : read this passage again

Reflect on the words you have read and then pray in response – to this God, our God

Meditation : take time and consider this song of praise from Mary.

What words stay with you? What is God saying to you today?

Take time to Pray in response – to Mary’s God, our God!
Use her words in your morning prayer.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask and seek and knock……and hear

Father God…Thy Kingdom Come!

My God, our God,
Hear our evening prayers.

Pray in response – with thanksgiving for another believer

And for blessing on another)

What is God saying to you today from His Word?

and then pray to their God, our God, in response

O LORD God,
God of astonishing events,
Thank you for what I read.
Help me to live and speak for You afresh this day
Whatever the circumstances
With the help of your Holy Spirit
In thought and word and action.

O LORD, God of mercy, hear our cry and pour out a blessing we ask!

Evening

Reflect on all that is said and done and then Pray in response to this God

O LORD, Father God, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for what we read.
As we look back over our day
As we look ahead to tomorrow
As we name before you those given good gifts by you at this time.
