Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Reading : 1 Peter 1 verses 3-12

Meditation : take time to consider this passage again.

What is God saying to you – again? What verses will you hold onto?

Then praise God in prayer – for our living hope in and through Christ Jesus

O God of all grace,
Father God,
Our God,
Thank you!
Thank you!
And for all that is to come
Thank you!
In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Pray the Prayer for the Month as your midday prayer

LORD, hear our prayers we ask.

Reading : read verses 3-12 again

Reflect on the words written by Peter as his letter starts….. and then Pray in response

Spirit of the Living God, hear our evening prayers.

Reading :  1 Peter 1 verse 12

Meditation : consider carefully this 1 verse as your day starts.
What does God’s Word here say about the prophets, the Holy Spirit, angels??
How has God taught you in your life? Whom have you shared it with?

Pray in response to this God – as the Spirit leads you 

Father God,
Thank you.
And hear our prayers
That Your Word is spoken
Even through us this day.
Amen.

Reflect on its meaning for you and then pray….. with a confidence in our God
O Lord, hear our various evening prayers.

Reading : 1 Peter 1 verses 10 and 11

Meditation : take time and consider these words about the Old Testament prophets……and the Holy Spirit at work.
Which prophets do you think Peter is referring to? What is God saying to you today?

Pray in response…to keep in step with God’s voice

Spirit of God,
Give me open ears
And a willing spirit within.
Speak afresh to me
And guide my daily steps
At work, rest and play
This day I pray
In Jesus’ Name

God of grace and mercy, justice and truth, hear our prayers.

Meditation :  take time to consider these words about our Christian faith.
Is this your living hope? Is this the source of your joy?

Pray in response to the One who is unseen

Lord Jesus
I read these words,
I believe!
I hope!
Help my unbelief
And fill me afresh with this joy
Even this day.

Meditation :   consider these 2 verses – and the glorious truths found here.
What is God saying to you today about your faith? what is your response to Him?                  

Pray in response – for others – to be kept strong in the faith

O God of Peter,
God of believers yesteryear,
Our God,
Hear our cry for others this morning.
Protect and provide we ask.
And grant us all this living hope
With the help of Your Holy Spirit within us –
For of ourselves we fail and fall.
Amen we say together.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day

Reflect on these words again… and Pray in response

Words of worship and praise – for who God is
Words of trust and thanks – for what God has done today for you
Words of hope and longing – for what God will do in and through you – even tomorrow)

What has God done for you?   What is God doing in you?
What has God got for you in the future?

and then pray over the wonderful truths of these words for yourself – and for another believer
