Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus, Saviour and Lord

Reading : 1 Peter 1 verse 1

Meditation : take time and consider this one verse again.
In what way are we a scattered people?
Which group(s) of believers are you in contact with scattered somewhere in our world?    

Pray in response to the God of all in Christ Jesus

Father God,
I believe
And this morning
I pray for believers in………..
May they know your grace and peace this day afresh.
In Jesus’ name I ask, Amen.

O God of love and sacrifice,
Hear my morning prayer
Of wonder and praise
And by Your Spirit’s help
Make me more like this Jesus.

O LORD, hear our prayers we ask and bless them real good we ask.

Reflect on the One described here and then Pray to Him

Compare verse 10 to verse 12 – what do you take from them?
How is the Suffering Servant rewarded?

Pray to this Servant King this morning! 

Praise my soul
The King of heaven!
Hallelujahs sing to Jesus!
Risen and anointed One!

Read again each verse.
What words stay with you?

then pray humbly in response to what you have read, as your day starts

O LORD God,
I am humbled and silenced
By what I read.
Thank you for the cross.
Thank you for a Saviour, Your own Son.
Forgive and cleanse me afresh
I must call out.
In Jesus’ Name,
