Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : Luke 1 verses 26-56
Meditation : consider Mary and her song of praise….. what is God saying to you today?

Pray in response to live to please God – more than any other

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
I have read these words.
Thank you for a life surrendered to You.
Here I am.
Use even me I ask.
In Jesus’ Name
Amen.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you – ask, seek, knock – hear!
O Lord, thank You. 

Evening

Reading : read the verses again

Reflect on these events and words…. and pray in response!

LORD God, our great God,
Who does great and awesome things!
For all of today
I thank You.
Now with my trust and hope in You alone,
Even for those things that cause me fear and concern at the end of this day,
Help me to rest in Your unfailing love and on Your faithful Word.
In Jesus’ powerful name, Amen.

LOOKING INTO LUKE

Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God, the Eternal One

Reading : Luke 1 verses 1-25
Meditation : consider all that happens here to Zachariah and Elizabeth.
What is God teaching you today from these verses?

Pray in response – to be a bringer of good news – even today!

LORD God,
Thank you for the way you work in our lives.
As we open our hearts to You this morning
Teach us more of Your truth
And use even us to bring good news to family and friends and colleagues and neighbours!
Amen and amen we pray together this day.

Pray for Church cafes and all involved in running them in our country
LORD, hear our prayers! 

Evening

Take time and imagine the events and the conversations and then pray in response…
Praying for those we have conversed with today.

O Saviour Lord, hear our evening prayers.

Meditation : take time to consider these great words on this day.
What do they teach you? What is God saying to you today?

Pray in response –to ‘the God of all comfort’

Pray for those who are grieving and sorrowing especially today.
Pray afresh for peace in our world.

O God, on this particular day, hear our prayers afresh.

Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray with thanks to our God …

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our many evening prayers.
Thank you for today.
Thank you above all for Your comfort and loving kindnesses to all in need.

Spirit of God,
Fall anew on me,
Break and melt and mould and fill me
All over again
From the inside out.
Guide my daily steps
At work, rest and play
This day I pray.
