Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Reading: ROMANS 6 verses 8-14.

Meditation: as we pause with God, we take the time to consider these verses.

What images or words stay with you?

How is God challenging or encouraging you today?

And then Pray in response to Father God.

LORD, we surrender our day to You.

Let us resist the temptation around us.

Let all we do today bring glory to Your name.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Pray God’s blessing on those on our Church Prayer List

Father God, bless all whom we lift to you in our prayer.

Amen.

Evening

Reading: read this passage again from ROMANS 6 verses 8-14.

Take time to reflect and pray to God.

Thankfully.

Adoringly.

Worshipping to our God.

Meditation: Consider this short passage this new morning…

Freedom from sin.

Being set free.

…and then respond in prayer to this God, our God.

LORD Jesus, thank You for the pathway to freedom from sin.

Pray God’s blessing on our world mission partners.

God of grace…hear our prayers and pour out blessings we ask, give saving grace!

Evening

Reading: read the set verses again from ROMANS 6 verses 5-7.

Reflect on what happens here and then pray to this God we believe in.

Let us rejoice in the freedom You have given us;

We are no longer slaves to sin.

Let us rejoice that the power belongs with You;

We are no longer slaves to sin.

O LORD, as we confess our weaknesses this evening;

We do so in the knowledge that we will be united with You.

Hear our evening prayers, O God, as this day ends.

We believe and trust in You and lay ourselves and all we have before You

Forgive us when we have not followed Your ways today and help us be better tomorrow.

Reading: ROMANS 5 verses 12-21.

Meditation: as we pause with God today, we consider these truths…

Condemnation.

Salvation.

What words or images stay with you?

What is God saying to you afresh today?

…and then respond in prayer with Him.

At the beginning of this day, I ask for the strength to follow Your laws.

I know that at some point I will do wrong and need redemption.

Thank You that I can be washed clean and can try again tomorrow.

In Your name, amen.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you – Ask, seek, knock….hear!

Father God, what are You saying to me?

Father God, what do You want me to do?

Father God, I am listening.

Evening

Reading: read the words again from ROMANS 5verses 12-21.

Reflect and then pray in response to God.

LORD, forgive me the wrong we thought, said and did today.

Thank You that we can be made righteous through Your son,

And that we can be with You eternally, only by Your grace.

Pray God’s blessing on the work of TEARFUND in our world.

God of salvation and love, bring blessings to those you mission throughout this world.

Evening

Reading: read these verses again from ROMANS 5 verses 9-11.

Reflect and then pray to this God in response.

Saviour Jesus, thank for the salvation that is only possible through Your blood.

Thank You that we are counted among Your friends.

We humbly bow before you now to ask that you give us an opportunity in this coming week to share Your love with our friends and family so they too can know reconciliation with the Father.

Verses 8: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

And then we pray to this God in response.

We pray to you, our Father and our Saviour.

Thank you that You show Your love to us.

Father, you have freed us.

Jesus, you have died for us.

Holy Spirit, you live in us.

Father, we offer ourselves to you.

Jesus, through You we die to sin.

Holy Spirit, thank you for life and peace.

O LORD, God to the powerless, hear our evening prayers we ask,

We thank You for the blessings of this Sunday.

As we believe in Your resurrection,
