Daily Devotions for Monday 21st September, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus, Saviour and Lord

Reading : JUDGES 1 verses 27-36

Meditation : take time to consider this part of the Bible and all that happens here!
People who were not driven out.
What words or images stay with you?
Is there something God is showing you needs to be dealt with in your life?

Pray in response to what you have read
Asking the Holy Spirit to show…point….help…

O LORD, hear our morning prayer
Have mercy we ask
Show us what is out of place in our lives
Help us, O help us we call out.
In and through Christ Jesus, Amen.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on the materials in Perspex boxes at our gates
O LORD, hear our prayers and use them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these words again from JUDGES 1
Reflect on the events and words here and then Pray in response

LORD God, our God, hear our evening prayers,
As we confess our failures
As we lift up to you
Our circumstances
Today
Tomorrow
And others responding to your call
At this time in their lives
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Daily Devotions for Sunday 20th September, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : PSALM 119 verse 97

Meditation : take time to consider this one verse on this Sunday.
What encourages and challenges you?
What is your response to God’s written Word this morning?

And then pray in response on this Sunday morning

In Jesus’ Name, Amen we say together.

Midday

Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own Midday Prayer

In Joshua we see Israel in the wilderness and the lesson that fullness of your will in us is through Jesus and not the law.
Lord, just as your people Israel experienced swollen rivers and walled cities, so do we today with viruses and sickness, people lost in darkness, man’s inhumanity to man, poverty and hardship close to home. Equip us in your strength to overcome. Bring us into your fullness; deliverance, healing and abundant living; and plant in us the fruit of your Spirit. Help us face the future with courage and keep us fixed on your Word.
Lord, your people had to wait faithfully and patiently to enter the promised land; they suffered loss when Moses, their leader, was taken from them but you met them in their loss and provided for them a new leader to take them through.
When we become impatient in waiting for you to act we need to remember that you operate on a whole different level to our understanding. Please help us to trust and feel your presence with us as we wait on you.
Thank you for your promise that you will never leave us alone.
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these words again from PSALM 119
Reflect on the truths written here and then Pray in response at the end of your day

O LORD, our Rock, our Maker, the Great King,
We bring our Sunday evening sacrifice of praise to you.
As we return our thanks to you
As we acknowledge You our Saviour and Help even this day.
As we pray for all corners of our world
To know of Jesus.
In His saving name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #sorry

As a Church we took part in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come earlier this year.
This ran during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost.

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives.

This week we focus on the theme of SORRY as we pause to pray with others.

We are invited to spend time with the LORD our Father God….bringing our prayers to Him

For things done we shouldn’t have…

For things undone we should have…

For things spoken we shouldn’t have…

For things unspoken we should have…

For things thought we shouldn’t have…

For things thought we should have…

For being unlike Jesus…..

And we receive His forgiveness and cleansing and peace….

As we spend time in the Father’s arms and know afresh that He loves us…
