Pause to Pray for Others

On this first Sunday in October…as the nation and the world still wrestles with new cases and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For the Church in our nation at this time – to be salt and light

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time of decision making

Bible Verse for the Week

Happy are those
who reject the advice of evil people,
who do not follow the example of sinners
or join those who have no use for God.
Instead, they find joy in obeying the Law of the Lord,
and they study it day and night.

Psalm 1 vs 1 and 2

Thy Kingdom Come at Midday

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world!

Each Sunday at Midday we will re-visit one of the 11 daily themes.
This week it is ADORE – as we are encouraged to offer our sacrifice of praise

Daily Devotions for Sunday 3rd October, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Reading : GENESIS 8 verses 20-22

Meditation : take time to consider these words of promise today.
What do they mean for you?

Pray with rejoicing in response to what you have read and considered

In Jesus’ name
Today this is my prayer of praise

Amen.

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening

Reading : read GENESIS 8 verses 20-22 again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …our God

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are – our God of promise
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day.
As we name others in need before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
