Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : JAMES chapter 3 verses 1-12

Meditation : take time and carefully consider these words.
Taming the tongue.
What is God saying to you today from His Word?
What is your response to Him?

Then pray in response to the LORD as your day starts

(Pray your own words this morning to the LORD our God……..)

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who drive our city buses
Lord, hear our prayers and bless each and all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from James 3
Reflect on the words written here – and what God is saying to you now.
Pray in response to this God who has heard us speak this day
O LORD, hear our evening prayers as this day closes
As we return our thanks to You.
As we humbly confess our sins

Looking again at verses 12 and 13 as you turn to prayer

O LORD our God,
These are our morning prayers
In Jesus’ name,

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who work in the hospitals in our city
LORD, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these set verses again from James 2
Humbly reflect on what you read and then pray in response – for yourself and
for others you have met during this day
LORD God, Father God, hear our many different prayers.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Upper Room day – time out with God

Meditation : consider all that is said here… at the start of your day.
Listening and Doing.
What words stay with you? What is God saying to you from His Word?

And then Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to wait before God…and listening to Him

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
I have read these words
And now I pray for you to work them out
as a living reality in my life – even today
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
…..and respond to His voice….
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from James 1
Reflect prayerfully on these words…. And then pray as your day closes
LORD God, our great God,
For all of today
I thank You,
Even for those things that have caused me fear and concern.
Help me to rest in Your unfailing love and on Your faithful Word
As I listen to your voice
And
As I look around at this world
In these days.
Have mercy O Lord!
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
