Tuesday Rhythm of Devotion

As a church we practice a varied rhythm of devotion.

We follow a programme of Daily Devotions to encourage our personal pilgrimage of faith.
We are encouraged to visit the Upper Room each Tuesday – a place with space for time out with God.
We are called to Monthly Prayer together as a Church Family on the last Tuesday evening of each month.

This Tuesday the Upper Room will be open 8am-4pm.
Times of prayer together at 12noon-12.30pm and 2.45-3.45pm.

Next Tuesday the Kirk will be open 7.30am-7.30pm for One Friday Upper Room in the Kirk.

Tuesday 30th will see the next Gathering for Prayer 7.30-8.45pm when we will focus on Stewarding and Finances in our spoken and unspoken prayers together.

You are invited to be part of this rhythm of devotion at Liberton Kirk.

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : 1 SAMUEL 13 verses 1-15

Meditation : consider this passage – and all that happens!
What does it mean for you today?
What is God saying to you this morning?
Which words will you hold onto through this day?

Pray in response to what you read – to our God
the God at work in our lives.

(Pray your own words of honesty at the start of this day
Of praise and worship
Of confession and trust
Of need)

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessings on the trypraying venture in Scotland this month
O LORD, have mercy on all we call out and pour rich blessings!

Evening
Reading : read these verses again prayerfully at the end of your day
Reflect….. and then pray to God in response
Father God, hear my honest prayer this evening.
As I humbly trust in Jesus, my Saviour, my King

O LORD GOD
Great and so worthy of praise.

We lay our lives before You.

And guide our tongues this day
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Reflect on all that is said and then Pray in response to our God the King
O LORD, our Great God, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for what we read
As we ponder again Your perfect ways

As we look ahead to tomorrow
As we name before you those we are concerned about.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #Adore

In our land and across our world during the 10 days before Pentecost in 2017 and 2018 believers and followers of Jesus were invited to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be experienced and evidenced anew. This was a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others and will be repeated in 2019.

As part of our daily devotional rhythm there are 11 posts on our website and social media pages – each Saturday morning at 8am – on the 11 themes brought to us by the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture leaders.

Today we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and bring Him our prayers and songs of adoration – for who He is and for all He has done for us and given in Christ Jesus!

Please take a few minutes to pray your prayers of adoration this morning.

O Come let us adore Him!em>
