Upper Room day and Evening Gathering for Prayer

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus, Saviour and Lord

Reading : GENESIS 25 verses 19-26

Meditation : take time and consider these new baby boys – and their parents.
Who do you relate to more?
What is your response to God’s Word today?

Pray in response to what you have read

O Lord
Speak to us
Speak to me
By name
And help me hear
What the Spirit is saying in these days
To me
To my family
To my Church
In Jesus’ wonderful name,
Amen.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask, seek, knock….hear!
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read the set passage again
Reflect on the words and events…and those involved…. and then Pray….to the LORD our God
God of new life and Creator of family life
We bring our evening worship to you
As we lay ourselves and our families before you
In Jesus’ name.
Amen and Amen.

UPPER ROOM Tuesday GATHERING FOR PRAYER

Why not make this part of your weekly routine as you step further into 2019?
If you are unable to attend due to work or family commitments – why not find a place with space and join with others in pausing to listen and pray with God.

The room above the Café becomes an Upper Room each Tuesday

all to be used – or not – as you prefer

There are opportunities to pause and pray and listen with others
7.30-8am
12 noon-12.30pm
7-7.15pm

And the Café is open from 9am!

We gather as a church family to pray together in the Kirk in the evening – 7.30-8.45pm.
Please join us as we commit 2019 into God’s hands and pray for each other.

You are encouraged to make this opportunity to pause and pray with God an active part of church life and work
so that together we hear what God is saying to His Church at Liberton Kirk.

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : GENESIS 25 verses 7-11

Meditation : take time to consider these few verses as your day starts.
Meditate over the words used in verse 11.

Then Pray and Praise in response to our God
Including giving thanks for the life of someone significant to you

(Pray your own words at the start of this day
Of praise and thanksgiving
Of confession and trust)

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on a shop/business near your home
God of grace and mercy and rich blessing, hear our prayers.

Evening
Reading : read these 5 verses again from Genesis 25
Reflect prayerfully on what you read and then praise and pray to this God in response
Eternal and Faithful One, hear my evening prayers
And receive my evening praise
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Meditation : take time and consider these words this Sunday morning.
What do they say to you today?
What is your response to God’s Word?

And then pray in response – using verses 2 and 3

O God of perfect goodness
Have mercy we call out
On us
On our city
On our world
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on someone you prayed for this past week
O LORD, God of mercy, hear our cry and bless this person we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from Psalm 14
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response to this God
O LORD, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we cry out to you for others unsaved in our day
As we thank you for the blessings of this Sunday
As we pilgrimage on towards tomorrow
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
