Thy Kingdom Come call to Midday Prayer

As part of the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture – from Ascension Day today to Pentecost on June 9th – you are invited to pause and pray at this time of the day.

You may wish to revisit the Daily Devotions for today.
You may wish to pray for others or yourself.
You may wish to pray the Lord’s Prayer as your own prayer.

Thy Kingdom Come Pray for 5

A big part of the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture – from today until Pentecost on June 9th – is to pray for 5 people – family and friends and neighbours and colleagues – to meet with Jesus.

You are invited to join this wave of prayer happening all over the world.
You are invited to make a list of up to 5 people.
You are invited to pray each morning for them.

Almighty God,
your ascended Son has sent us into the world
to preach the good news of your kingdom:
inspire us with your Spirit
and fill our hearts with the fire of your love,
that all who hear your Word
may be drawn to you,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen we pray together.

Daily Devotions for Thursday 30th May, 2019

Thy Kingdom Come

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : JOHN 1 verses 35-42

Meditation : take time to consider the theme of TO JESUS this morning.
Read the verses again as you consider others known to you.

Then pray in response
For up to 5 people you know
To meet with Jesus
For the first time
Even today

O LORD, hear our prayers
As we call out to you
To give saving grace
To those we name before you
Even today
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those new in their Christian discipleship
God of grace…hear our prayers and pour a blessing we ask on each and all

Evening
Reading : read these few verses again
Reflect on the words and images – at the end of your day
and Pray in response to our God of love and grace
O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for your amazing grace to us
And name others before you
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THY KINGDOM COME

Tomorrow
Christians
in our land
across our world
will begin this prayer venture for the next 11 days
for others to meet with Jesus
for the Kingdom rule of God to be experienced and evidenced anew

You are encouraged and invited to join in!

The Daily Devotions at Liberton Kirk will follow the set themes
in the morning meditation at 7am
and for others at Midday
and in the evening prayer at 9pm

The daily theme will also be available on the ThyKigdomCome social media pages and website.

You are invited and encouraged to make this a part of your rhythm of prayer and devotion
and to share with others the way God answers your prayers
in your life
in your family
in your church
in your community
in our land
in our world
