Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God our heavenly Father

Reading : COLOSSIANS 3 verses 12-17
Meditation : take time to consider these words from Paul as your day starts
Note verses 12 and 17 again…
What is God saying to you today?

and then put these words into practice in your morning prayer of response

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers.

Evening
Reading : read these set verses again
Reflect at the end of your day….. and then pray for others in your church family
Father God, hear our prayers and bless those we name before you.

Pray in response – with honesty.

My God,
Hear my prayer of response to what I have read and considered
And help me afresh to live my life for Jesus
With my words and actions – even today.
By the help of the Holy Spirit I ask afresh.
Amen.

O God of mercy, hear our prayers and pour out a blessing!

Evening

Reflect on your day – and Pray in response to what you have read
Father God, hear our evening prayers.

Thy Kingdom Come

As part of the follow-up to the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture last year across the world…and in preparation for May later this year… we pause as God’s people this weekend and consider the theme again of #thykingdomcome

Take a few minutes now – or when you are practically able – with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and spend time in prayer with Him – seeking His Kingdom first above all else and His will to be done.

LORD God, our God
We pause in Your presence afresh this weekend
And lift up to You
Our lives, our families, our neighbours
And colleagues and friends,
Our nation, our world
And we ask that Your kingdom reigns over all
That Your will is done first and foremeost
And that we see Your hand at work in these days.
Shine, Jesus, shine.
Blaze, Spirit, blaze.
Flow, river, flow.
In Jesus’ name we call out.
Amen and Amen.
