Thy Kingdom Come #sorry

As a Church family we have been revisiting the 11 themes of the Thy Kingdom Come Prayer venture each Saturday morning.

This venture runs for the 11 days leading up to Pentecost and this year will be 21-31 May.

We will be continuing this through Saturdays in May at 12 noon and daily in the period 21st-31st.

Today we are encouraged to pause and pray – with words of confession.

Most merciful God,
we confess to you,
before the whole company of heaven and one another,
that we have sinned in thought, word and deed
and in what we have failed to do.
Forgive us our sins,
heal us by your Spirit
and raise us to new life in Christ.
Amen.

Daily Devotions for Saturday 9th May, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : ROMANS 8 verses 26 and 27

Meditation : take time to consider these verses this morning.
What do they mean for you?
What is God teaching you today about Prayer?

And then Pray in response to what you read – to this God of ours.
Pray as the Spirit leads you

In Jesus’ name
Amen and Amen!

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your midday prayer

Almighty God, sitting enthroned in the heavens, we praise you because you, our Father, are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. In these days of constant change & uncertainty, thank you that you never change. May we live each day conscious of your love surrounding us and your power strengthening us.

We pray for our fellow believers, those here in Liberton, throughout our nation and all over the world. Let us stand shoulder to shoulder, encouraging one another in faith and upholding one another in prayer. May we carry your light to the people we meet and bring your peace and hope to those living in fear.

Lord Jesus, there will be no end to the increase of your government and peace. We pray that many would be drawn to you in these days, that they would seek and find the security that is only found in you. Let your Kingdom come, your will be done, here on earth as in heaven.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from ROMANS 8
Reflect on this God, your God, our God…. and then Pray with Him this evening

LORD God, our God,
Thank you for giving us your Holy Spirit
To help us
To guide us
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done across our world
In our community, in our city.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
