Daily Devotions for Saturday 21st December, 2019

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : ISAIAH 9 verse 6
‘Prince of Peace’

Meditation : take time to consider these few words this morning.
What do they mean for you?
What is God saying to you today from His Word?

And then Pray in response – using these words this morning

O God, the Prince of Peace
Hear my morning prayer
And give peace
As I lay others
And this day
Before you
In Jesus’ name.
Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those facing an unsettled Christmas
Father God, hear our prayers, have mercy and bless them real good we ask
Surprise them even this day with your perfect peace
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening
Reading : read these words again from ISAIAH at the end of your day
Reflect on these words as you look back over the day and then Pray in response
LORD God, our God, hear our prayers this evening
As we return our thanks to You
For your Perfect Peace
And so trust you for tomorrow
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #offer

As a church family at Liberton Kirk we have been revisiting the 11 themes from the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture earlier in the year. We are pausing to do so together on a Saturday morning.

This morning we are invited to pause and pray…and offer ourselves…to God, to Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Take time with Him

and OFFER

yourself…body, mind and spirit

your time and monies

your possessions

your family

as you journey into Saturday and through this season of Advent

In our community, in our city.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #sorry

As a church family at Liberton Kirk we have been revisiting the 11 themes from the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture earlier in the year. We are pausing to do so together on a Saturday morning.

This morning we are invited to pause and pray…with confession…as we say sorry to Father God.

Take time with Him

As you look back over the week

As you consider others in your life

As you ponder your relationship with Him at this time
