Thy Kingdom Come #celebrate

In our land and across our world during the 10 days before Pentecost believers and followers of Jesus were invited to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be experienced and evidenced anew. This was a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others and will be repeated in 2019.

As part of our church devotional rhythm there are 11 posts on our website and social media pages – each Saturday morning at 8am – on the 11 themes brought to us by the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture leaders.

Today we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and bring Him our prayers and songs of celebration – for who He is and for all He has done for us and given in Christ Jesus!

Please take a few minutes to celebrate God’s goodness and grace to you this morning.
Celebrate a gift He has recently given to you!
Pray that when we gather together tomorrow evening on Palm Sunday with the Big Idea group of churches we will experience and evidence His kingdom blessings!

Daily Devotions for Saturday 13th April, 2019

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : PSALM 46

Meditation : take time to consider these words of encouragement this morning.
What does God’s Word mean for you today?

And then Pray in response – noting verses 7-11 again

O LORD God Almighty,
My shelter and strength,
Hear my morning prayer
As I lay my worries and needs before you
As I lay this world before you
As I receive your peace.
As I praise you!
In Jesus’ name.
Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on your family and neighbours
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good
Surprise them even this day.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Psalm 46 at the end of your day
Reflect on the words prayerfully as you look back over your day and then Pray in response
LORD God, our Mighty God, hear our prayers this evening.
As we call out to you
As we return our thanks to you
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

As I prepare myself to worship you
with others tomorrow
