Daily Devotions for Sunday 2nd May, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Reading : PSALM 24

Meditation : take time to consider this psalm today.
God is King!
What are you encouraged and challenged by?

Pray in response to what you have read and considered

In Jesus’ name
Today this is my prayer
These are my songs of praise
For I believe and trust in Him – the King of kings!
Amen.

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Our Father in Heaven
May your holy name be honoured
In our lives
In your Church

Our Father in Heaven
May your kingdom rule be seen
In our lives
In our community

Our Father in Heaven
May your will be done
In our lives
In our nation

Our Father in Heaven
May your kingdom come
May your will be done
In our world

In Jesus’ name
Amen

Evening
Reading : read PSALM 24 again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …our God

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day.
As we call on You
As we name others in need before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Call to Sunday Evening Prayer

You are invited at this time in your day to pause and pray as you count your Sunday blessings

You may want to be still in God’s refreshing presence before you step into a new week

You may need to name others before Father God

You may find it helpful to read the words from today’s Daily Devotions – 1 Thessalonians 5 verses 12-24

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and neighbours

For all in our Church Family at this time
