Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : MARK 2 verses 18-28
Meditation : take time and consider this part of the Bible this morning.
Jesus questioned about Fasting.
What is God teaching/reminding you?
What words stay with you?
Is fasting part of your spiritual discipline?

And then pray in response – as your day starts

Pray your own words of faith and trust to the LORD our God.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on Open Doors at work in North Korea
Father God…hear our prayers and bless each and all we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from MARK 2 verses 18-28
Reflect on the words and truths at the end of your day
and Pray in response to God – with your words of faith and trust

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you
For all your good gifts to us
For our trust and hope is in you
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Maundy Thursday Evening Prayer with Others

As we journey through this Holy Week….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from MATTHEW 26 verses 17-35– as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Thursday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Turkey and Syria, Ukraine and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

What is God teaching/reminding you today?

And then pray in response as your Thursday starts

Pray your own words to the LORD our God

O LORD
Our Creator and Saviour.
Hear our many prayers
On this Maundy Thursday
As we remember
As we pause and consider
All that happened
In Jesus’ name
Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those facing a tough decision at this time
O LORD, hear our prayers and pour out help and comfort we ask

Evening
Reading : read the set verses again from MATTHEW 26
Reflect on these words again at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of ours with honest and humble words

O LORD God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank You for Your help in our lives.
O have mercy we ask
On others
On our Church
On our world

The Death of Jesus.
The Burial of Jesus.

What is your response to God’s Word today?

Then pause to pray to this God we believe and trust in

And so we bring our sacrifice of praise to you, our God
As we pause at the Cross
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those missing the presence of a loved one
God of grace…hear our prayers and pour a blessing we ask on each and all

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from MATTHEW 27 verses 45-66
Reflect on the words and events – at the end of your day
and Pray with humble words in response to this God – our God

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we pause at the Cross
Forgive us our sins of this day
As we forgive those who have sinned against us – even today
