(Pray your own words this morning to the LORD God……..
For yourself and for others)

In Jesus’ name. Amen and Amen.

Midday

Lord, hear our prayers and bless each and all real good we ask.

Pray in response to this God who was with Nathan and David
O LORD, hear our evening prayers as this day closes
As we return our prayers of confession to You.
And bless all those we name before you.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Daily Devotions for May 2019

‘Our Father in heaven…may your kingdom come, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…’
Matthew 6 verses 9 and 10

During 2019 we are looking at various Bible characters and their relationship with God, and with each other – as well as a couple of Psalms each weekend – pausing in prayer at our times of Midday Devotion for others in our church family, our city and our world at this time of the year.
In May we continue to journey with David and welcome Elijah, Elisha and the start of the ThyKingdomCome prayer venture…a call to pray for others to meet with Jesus and for the Church to experience Kingdom blessings in these days.
We are all encouraged to listen for God’s voice and make our response
as we journey together in our ‘rhythm of devotion’ during 2019.

These Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday, in the evening… to pray with Him continually through the day and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.
The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information provided fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions which we started as a church family in 2015.

A Prayer for the Month of May

O God
Of David
Elijah and Elisha
We believe in You
We trust in You
We seek to please You
O Help us
Forgive us
Guide us
Use us
Surprise us
As we seek to see
Thy Kingdom Come
In our lives
In your Church
This month
In Jesus’ name
Amen

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Thy Kingdom Come #silence

In our land and across our world during the 10 days in 2017 and 2018 before Pentecost believers and followers of Jesus were invited to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be experienced and evidenced anew…and to pray for 5 friends and contacts to meet with Jesus. This was a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others and will be repeated in 2019…and wholly encouraged by the Moderator of the Church of Scotland.

As part of our daily devotional rhythm there are 11 posts on our website and social media pages – each Saturday morning at 8am – on the 11 themes brought to us by the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture leaders.

On this particular Saturday we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and to be still – listening.

Please take a few minutes with God – when you are able now or during the day – to be still in a time of silence.

Listen.
Expect.
Receive.

Today we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and bring Him our prayers and songs of adoration – for who He is and for all He has done for us and given in Christ Jesus!

Please take a few minutes to pray your prayers of adoration this morning.
