#thykingdomcome

As part of the follow-up to the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture earlier this year across the world, we pause as God’s people this weekend and consider the theme again of #ThyKingdomCome

Take a few minutes now – or when you are practically able -with God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit- and bring Him your weekend prayers.
Find a place to spend with Him.
Find a time to seek first the Kingdom of God

Oh LORD God
May your kingdom come, your will be done
In my life
In my home
In my street
In my church

In Jesus’ name.
Amen!

Take a few minutes now – or when you are practically able -with God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit- and be still with Him.

Find a place to wait in His presence.

Find a time to listen for His voice.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Hear our many prayers
as we name before you
those in need of help
those who have crossed our lives this past week
those who have headlined our news reports
those whose deepest need You alone know.

Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
in each and all their lives.
And oh LORD
do not pass us by
as we call out in need to You for help!
In Jesus’ name we ask.
Amen.

Daily Devotions for October 2017

‘Meanwhile the word of God continued to spread and grow.’
Acts 12 verse 24

The Daily Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday, in the evening… to pray with Him continually through your day and to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover. The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information provided fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions.

It was these traditions that gave birth to the Daily Devotions in early 2015.

Morning
Reading and Meditation on the content and a Prayer of response

Midday
Prayer – mostly for others

Evening
Verse(s) from the morning reading
Reflection and Prayer at the end of the day

———-

As the year moves on and the season of Looking OUTWARD together starts, so we are feeding on the New Testament book of ACTS during September and October – the Spirit is poured out!
the Church is born!
the Good News is spread further and further – and further!

Let me encourage you to listen for His voice as we continue in our ‘rhythm of devotion’ during 2017.

A Prayer for the Month

A Prayer for the Month of October

O Jesus the Christ
Name above all names
We confess you
Saviour and Lord

Jesus, Saviour for the world
We bow before the cross
And speak abroad
Your love in action

Lord Jesus, our Lord
We bow the knee
And surrender to the Spirit
To fill and use us

In our homes
In our street
In our city
In our world

O Jesus the Christ
Saviour for the world
Name above all names

Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven Hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our sins As we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory. Now and for ever

Amen
