Celtic Daily Devotions April 2016

God sacrificed Jesus on the altar of the world to clear that world of sin.

As we move onwards from Easter you are encouraged to take time each day and use the devotional guide provided online or in the church magazine – when we travel through ROMANS for this month. It is one of Paul’s great letters to other believers and full of truly great truths for those who are in Christ Jesus.

It is one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday and in the evening….. to Pray with Him continually through your day…

and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.

The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information overleaf fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions.

Daily Devotions 31st March ’16

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit
Reading : 1 Corinthians 15 verses 50-58
Meditation : consider these great words and what they mean for you?

and Pray in response to our God…to have this resurrection hope more and more.
O God,
Hear my morning prayer
Of thanksgiving,
Of hope,
And for others.
Bless each one in my church I ask…and add to those who are being saved
That together we may share in this great hope of resurrection!
Amen we pray together this new day.

Midday

Pray the Prayer for the Month as your midday prayer
LORD, hear our prayer we ask!

Evening

Reading : read the verses again

Reflect on verses 55-57 and then Pray in praise to God at the end of this devotion,
Giving thanks for His amazing grace and gift of eternal salvation in and through Christ Jesus.
LORD God, our God, hear our prayers, as we return our thanks to You.

Daily Devotions 30th March ’16

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from Jesus
Reading :   1 Corinthians 15 verses 35-49
Meditation : take time and consider this part of the Bible…and our resurrection hope
especially for those in Christ Jesus

Pray to this God in response
O God of truth and hope,
I read –
Help me believe And trust in You
And let Your Holy Spirit work in and through me,
Teaching me Your truths.
Amen – we pray together.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on those sorrowing and grieving at this time
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask 

Evening

Reading : read these verses again

Reflect on the words you have just read and pray in response to the God of hope
Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers.
