Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : PSALM 60

Meditation : take time to consider these verses this morning.
A psalm about the ways of the LORD.
What encourages and challenges you?
What words will you hold onto today?

And then Pray in response – looking again at verses 11 and 12

O God, my Father,
Hear my morning prayer
As I lay myself
And my enemies
Before you
In Jesus’ name.
Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those seeking to know God better
And for the Church of Scotland Assembly week starting today
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good
Surprise them even this day we ask
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Psalm 60 at the end of your day
Reflect on these words as you look back over the day and then Pray in response
LORD God, our God, hear our prayers this evening
As we return our thanks to You
And trust you for tomorrow
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What are you encouraged and challenged by?
What is your response to God’s Word today?

Take time to Pray in response

O God of power and grace,
As I read these words
Help me believe
And trust in You
In good times and in hard times.
May Your Holy Spirit work in and through me.
As You were doing through Elijah
As You are doing across the world.
Oh surprise us in these days we call out!
In Jesus’ name.
Amen – we pray together.

Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read these few verses again from 1 Kings 19
Reflect on the way God has been working in your life
and pray in response to Him
and for others in need at this time as well as yourself

How would you describe Elijah’s relationship here with the LORD God?
How would you describe your relationship with Him today?

And then pray in response as your day starts

In confession and need to be more like Jesus,
And for others known to you at this time in a hard place.)

O LORD of amazing grace, receive our morning praise and hear our prayers
As we step forward into this day
And all that it will bring
We ask in Jesus’ name.

O LORD, hear our prayers and pour out a blessing we ask on each and all

Evening

and Pray in response to this God of ours
O LORD God, hear our evening prayers as we thank You for Your call on our lives.
Oh pour out your saving grace on others we ask
