Daily Devotions for Tuesday 14th April, 2020

Upper Room day – time-out with God

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus, Saviour and Lord

Reading : JOHN 14 verses 15-21

Meditation : take time and consider these verses this morning.
Jesus promises the Holy Spirit
Which words stay with you?
What is God saying to you today and what is your response?

Take time to Pray in response – including for others known to you at this time

Oh Holy Spirit
Come!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen!

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask and seek and knock……and receive
Father God…thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from JOHN 14
Reflect…. and then Pray as your day closes

God of good gifts
Our Father God
Hear our evening prayers
As we journey from today to tomorrow
Oh help us keep in step
With the Holy Spirit
We cry out.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Time out Tuesday

It was indeed an unusual Holy Week.

Yet our God is Loving, Faithful and only a prayer away – as we journey through this week after Easter!

As a Church we have set aside a Tuesday each week and provided a place with space – the UPPER ROOM.
However in these times it is not possible to open and run this space sadly.

But…our Tuesdays can still be an opportunity for time out…

You are invited to pause at some time in your Tuesday and be still with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

You are encouraged to speak with Him…to listen to Him…to receive from Him…

You are invited to share in the Midday Prayer and Evening Prayer that will be posted online at 12noon and 9pm.
We are also encouraged to pray the Lord’s Prayer with others in our city and across our land at 5pm.

You are invited to pray with others in our Church family as we journey through this week together…..and to listen for what God is saying to us in these days….

Daily Devotions for April 13th, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : HEBREWS 10 verses 35-39

Meditation : take the time to consider this passage…words about persevering.
What is God saying to you this morning?
What is your response to God’s Word today?

Pray in response – to our God , the God who does not delay
Looking again at verses 37 and 38

(Pray your own words at the start of this day
Of praise and worship
Of confession and trust
Of need)

And then together…

O LORD our God,
Hear our prayers this day
As we lay ourselves before you
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessings on those who are still working near the Kirk
O LORD, have mercy on all we call out and pour rich blessings!

Evening
Reading : read the passage again prayerfully at the end of your day
Reflect….. and then pray to God in response

Father God, Eternal God,
hear my prayer this evening.
As I humbly name others before you.
As I call out to you for others in this uncertain time
As I lay myself and this world before you
In Jesus’ name. Amen
