Daily Devotions for Thursday 26th November, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : JOHN 1 verse 1

Meditation : take time and consider this opening verse this morning.
The Logos, the Eternal Word, is God.
What does this mean for you?
How would you describe your relationship with God?

And then pray in response – as your day starts
including for others seeking to know God at this time

Pray your own words to the LORD our God.

And then together we pray…

O LORD,
Eternal God,
The Living Word,
Have mercy we ask and hear our prayers
For others
For family
For neighbours and colleagues
For ourselves
That they and we might know You
And have your gift of eternal life
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those in need of God’s nearness at this time
Father God…hear our prayers and bless them each and all we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this verse again from JOHN 1
Reflect on the words at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of ours

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you
For those who have found you
Even today
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Call to Evening Prayer

As part of the Kirk’s rhythm of prayer and devotion we invite people to pause and pray each day.

We offer a Daily Devotions Bible reading each morning and a focus for midday prayer.

At this time in your Wednesday you are invited to pause and pray as the day closes.

You may wish to revisit PSALM 33.20 and consider the LORD my Shield.
You may need to name others before Father God.
You may want to be still with God as you look back on your day.
