Daily Devotions for Sunday 5th July, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Reading : PSALM 23 verse 1

Meditation : take time to consider this one verse this morning.
‘The LORD is my shepherd.’
What do the words mean for you in your daily life?
Who is the LORD to you?

Pray in response to what you have read and considered

In Jesus’ name
Today this is my prayer
For I believe and trust in Him
My Good Shepherd
Amen.

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your midday prayer

Loving Father,
We face a wide river and we long to reach the other side;
And we must use the stepping stones offered to us.
You say, ’When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
When you pass through rivers, they will not sweep over you’.
Our trust is in you, O Lord.
In Jesus’ name. Amen

(Isaiah 43.2)

Evening
Reading : read PSALM 23 verse 1 prayerfully again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …our God
Including for others known to you in need at this time

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day.
As we name others in need before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #offer

As a Church we recently took part in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come.
This ran during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost.

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives.

This week we focus on the theme of OFFER as we pause to pray with others.

We offer to God ourselves – just as we are

We offer to God our time – 24/7

We offer to God our monies – all of it

We offer to God today – and tomorrow

Daily Devotions for Saturday 4th July, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Reading : PSALM 23

Meditation : take time to consider these familiar words this Saturday morning.
The Good Shepherd.
Which words will you hold onto today?

Pray in response to the God of Psalm 23

O LORD
Our God
Good and Faithful One,
Receive our praise
Hear our prayers
And keep us on the right path we ask
As you walk with us this day
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your own midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read this familiar Psalm again

Reflect prayerfully on the words and images ….. and then Pray in response
Especially for others in need of receiving help and guidance at this time

Spirit of the Living God, hear our evening prayers at the end of this day
And be with those we name before you
As we step into Sunday pastures with you.
In Jesus’ saving name, Amen.
