Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : COLOSSIANS 1 verses 3-14

Meditation : take time and consider this opening part of Paul’s letter this morning.
Prayer of thanksgiving.
What does it mean for you today?

And then pray in response – as your day starts
including for others recently blessed by God

(Pray your own words to the LORD God.)

O LORD,
God of compassion,
Have mercy we ask and hear our prayers
For others
For family
For neighbours and colleagues
For ourselves
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on OPEN DOORS at work in India
Father God…hear our prayers and bless them each and all we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from COLOSSIANS 1
Reflect on the words of thanksgiving at the end of your day
and Pray in response to God – our God of blessing

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you
For those you have blessed in their lives
Even today
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pause to Pray with Others

On this particular Wednesday…as the nation journeys forward with hope in this season of Lockdown.. you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends

For all who work in our schools at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

A Call to Midday Prayer

You are invited at this time in your day to pause and pray

You may want to be still in God’s refreshing presence

You may need to name others before Father God

putting verses 6 and 7 into practice

O LORD, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask.

Reading : read the set verses again from PHILIPPIANS 4
Reflect on the words you read and then pray in response

LORD God, , our God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for all you have provided this day
As we thank you for your guiding hand this day
As we hand over to you our worries
And receive your love, joy and peace.
