Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : PSALM 67

Meditation : as we pause with God this morning, consider this song of thanksgiving.
What words stay with you?

And then pray with rejoicing in response as your day starts

Pray your own words to the LORD God

O LORD
We bring our sacrifice of praise in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Midday
We give thanks for our neighbours
O LORD, hear our prayers and pour out a blessing we ask on each and all

Evening
Reading : read the set verses again from PSALM 67
Reflect on these words again at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of ours with thanksgiving

O LORD God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank You for Your help in our lives.
O have mercy we ask
On others
On our Church
On our world
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pause to Pray for Others

On this Wednesday in October…as the nation and the world still wrestles with new cases and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For children and young people in our community

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time of decision making as COP 26 approaches

O LORD our God,
Thank you for all these words
And all they teach me.
Receive my sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving
As I step into this new day
In Jesus’ name, Amen

We give thanks for those who care for and pastor us
O LORD, give blessing to each and hear our prayers we ask this day.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from PSALM 65
Reflect on the words you have read and then pray in response – to this God, our God

LORD God, our God,
God who deserves our thanks
Hear the evening prayers of your people
For we are indeed in need of rescue from this world
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
