Pause to Pray for Others

On this particular World Mission Sunday at Liberton Kirk…as the nation and the world still wrestles with the new variant and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern are before us in our nation and our world … you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to continue to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time – including Tonga and Ukraine

For family and friends and neighbours

For the Church in our world to be salt and light

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time

Thy Kingdom Come at Midday

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world!
Thy Kingdom Come 2022 prayer venture will be running 26 May – 5 June.

Each Sunday at Midday we will re-visit one of the 11 daily themes….and this time we revisit the children’s videos with the Cheeky Pandas!
This week it is the theme of THANKS – as we are encouraged to offer our songs of thanksgiving for all the blessings God has given

Daily Devotions for Sunday 30th January, 2022

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : ROMANS 6 verses 15-23

Meditation : take time and consider this passage this particular Sunday morning.
Slaves of Righteousness.
What is God teaching/reminding you today from His Word?
What is your response?

And then pray in response – using the words as you turn to prayer

O God of greatness
We bow before you
We believe in you
We trust in you
May your Holy Spirit
Work out these truths
In my life
Even today
In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening

Reflect on the words written here and then Pray in response to this God

O LORD, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for the blessings of this Sunday
As we believe and trust in you
As we pilgrimage on towards tomorrow
