Daily Devotions for Saturday 21st October, 2023

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : JOHN 14 verse 12

Meditation : take the time to consider these words of Jesus this Saturday morning.
Faith in Jesus.
Great things.

Which words stay with you as your day starts?
What is God teaching you about Himself today?

And then pray to this Jesus in response as we step into this new day

He heals the broken-hearted
and bandages their wounds.
He has decided the number of the stars
and calls each one by name.
Great and mighty is our Lord;
his wisdom cannot be measured.
He raises the humble,
but crushes the wicked to the ground.

Amen we pray together this new day

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own Midday Prayer

Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life……If you knew me
you would know the Father as well.”
We pray: – Lord abide in us as the Father does in you.
Amen

Evening
Reading : read the verse again from JOHN 14 verses 12
Reflect on these words and events….
and then Pray to this Jesus in response to what you have read

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : JOHN 14 verse 6

Meditation : take time and consider all that is said here about our God.
Jesus is the only Way, the Truth, the Life.

What is your response to these words from Jesus?

And then Pray with your own words to this God of ours in response
Naming others seeking the Living God

And so we bring our morning prayers to you, our God Most High, our Father God.
Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on Alice Laing as she serves Moredun and Gilmerton churches
Father God, hear our prayers and bless her real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from JOHN 14 verse 6
Reflect on the words written here and pray in response to the Lord our Way

Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, my soul
I will praise him as long as I live;
I will sing to my God all my life.
