Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : JOHN chapter 5 verses 1-18
Meditation : take the time to consider these particular words this Saturday morning.
Healing at a pool.

What are you encouraged and challenged by from God’s written Word?
Which words stay with you as your day starts?

And then take time to Pray in response to this Jesus
Looking again at His question in verse 6

Amen we pray together this new day.

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own Midday Prayer

Father God
Thank you for sending Jesus
Son of God
Son of Man
From heaven to earth

Holy Spirit
Show us
Teach us
Help us
To follow Him
To love Him
To serve Him
More and more

In this world
We ask in Jesus’ name
Amen

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from JOHN 5 verses 1-18
Reflect on the truths behind the words…. and then Pray in response to what you have read
Looking again at Jesus’ question in verse 6

Examine me, O God, and know my mind;
test me, and discover my thoughts.
Find out if there is any evil in me
and guide me in the everlasting way

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening Prayer with Others

As we journey through this week….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from JOHN 4 verses 43-54 – as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Friday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Morocco, Ukraine and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

Naming others in a place of sickness at this time
Giving thanks for those who have experienced a healing

Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask

Reading : read this passage again from JOHN 4 verses 43-54

Reflect on the words and images here and pray in response to our Healing God

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you
For all you have done for us
We believe
Help our unbelief
As we name others before You this evening

Pray your own words of faith and worship to the LORD our God.
