Daily Devotions for Monday 2nd August, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God, the Eternal One

Reading : PSALM 95

Meditation : take time to consider these words of praise as your day starts.
What is God saying to you today about Himself?

Then take time to Pray in response

LORD God,
Thank you that we can trust You
Thank you that you are faithful
Thank you that you are with us
Even today
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the Bible Society of Ethiopia
O LORD, hear our prayers at this time of day and give grace to this work we ask.

Evening

Reading : read the verses again from PSALM 95
Reflect on their meaning for you and pray in response…to this God

O Living and True God, our heavenly Father, hear our evening prayers
As we pause to worship You for who You are
And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sinned against us even today.
O pour out a blessing on those we name before You
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pause to Pray for Others

On this first day of a new month…as the nation continues to journey forward and the world wrestles with new cases and vaccine supplies.. you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world

For family and friends and neighbours

For all who offer pastoral care through the Church across the world

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

Thy Kingdom Come at Midday

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world as we pray for 5 people we know to meet with Jesus!

Each Sunday at Midday we will re-visit one of the 11 daily themes.
This week it is SILENCE

You are invited to be still in God’s presence

You are encouraged to wait and listen and hear from Him

You are invited to Pause – Rejoice – Ask – Yield
