Daily Devotions for DECEMBER 2024

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1 verse 14

In 2024 we were considering BEFORE THE GOOD NEWS – GOD’S PLAN BEGINS – as we stepped back into the Old Testament and pausing at our times of Midday Devotion to pray for others in our church family, our city and our world.

In December we celebrate the birth of a Saviour! His name is JESUS.

We are all invited to listen for God’s voice and make our response
as we journey together in our closing ‘rhythm of devotion’ in 2024.

These Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday,
in the evening… to pray with Him continually through the day
and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.
The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information provided
fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions
which we started as a church family in 2015.

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.

As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.

Daily Devotions for Friday 29th November, 2024

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : JONAH chapter 3
Meditation : take time and consider all that happens here.
Jonah obeys!

And then pray in response – as your day starts
Naming others in a place of doubting and obeying at this time

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those on our Church Prayer List
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them all real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read these words again from JONAH chapter 3 – in another version?
Reflect on the words and truths here and pray in response to our God

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you
For all you have done for us
We believe
Help our unbelief

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : JONAH chapter 2
Meditation : take time and consider all that is said here in prayer

What is God teaching/reminding you?
What words stay with you?

And then pray in response – as your day starts

Pray your own words of faith and trust to the LORD our God.

Help my unbelief

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on believers in Mexico
Father God…hear our prayers and bless each and all we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from JONAH chapter 2
Reflect on these words of prayer at the end of your day
And then Pray in response to this God – with your words of faith and trust

Give saving grace to those struggling with faith and doubt

Jonah disobeys the LORD his God

Pray for those struggling with God’s ways
