Daily Devotions for Monday 27th July, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : PSALM 84

Meditation : take time to consider this psalm of trust as your day starts.
‘My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God’
‘Blessed are those whose strength in in you’
Where are you on your pilgrimage of faith at this time?

Then Pray with honesty in response to the LORD our God

(Pray your own words at the start of this day
Of praise and thanksgiving
Of confession and trust
For those on a journey of faith)

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the materials in the Perspex boxes at our gates
God of grace and mercy and rich blessing, hear our prayers we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from PSALM 84
Reflect prayerfully on what you read and then pray’n’praise to our God in response

Eternal and Faithful One, hear my evening prayers
As I lay myself and this world before you at the end of today
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Call to Sunday Evening Prayer

As you look back on your day – count your blessings – and give thanks to the LORD our God….

The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.

He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.

He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley,[a]
I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Together we say our Amens!

Words from this morning’s Daily Devotions – Psalm 23

Daily Devotions for Sunday 26th July, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : PSALM 23

Meditation : take time to slowly consider this psalm afresh this Sunday morning.
Which words do you hold onto at this time in your life?
What is God reminding you about Himself at this time?

And then pray in response – using the words as you turn to prayer

O Good Shepherd,
We trust in You
Today
Tomorrow
Forever
Guide us
Help us
Restore us
Until we see you face to face
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your midday prayer

Loving Father,
We face a wide river and we long to reach the other side;
And we must use the stepping stones offered to us.
You say, ’When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
When you pass through rivers, they will not sweep over you’.
Our trust is in you, O Lord.
In Jesus’ name. Amen

(Isaiah 43.2)

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from PSALM 23
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response to this God

O LORD, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for the blessings of this Sunday
As we believe and trust in you
As we pilgrimage on towards tomorrow
And a brighter future with You one day
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
