Daily Devotions for Wednesday 7th December, 2022

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : JOEL 2 verses 18-32

Meditation : consider all that is said here as your day starts.
The LORD restores.
The Spirit of God poured out.

What is your response to God’s written Word today?
Is there a prayer to experience this on your lips?

Then turn to pray to God in response

O LORD our God,
Thank you for all these words
And all they teach me about who you are.
Receive my sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving
And help me receive from You
Restore
Refresh
Renew
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on your neighbours
O LORD, give blessing and hear our prayers we ask this day.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from JOEL 2 verses 18-32
Reflect on the words you have read and then pray in response – to this God, our God

LORD God, our God,
God who deserves our thanks
Hear the evening prayers of your people
For we are indeed in need of rescue from this world
Restore us
Refresh us
Renew us
In Jesus’ name. Amen!

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask and seek and knock……and hear
Father God…thank you.

Evening

God of Hosea and the God of today,
The God of strong love
The God of eternal faithfulness
The God of mercy and forgiveness
My God, our God,
Hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for your help today
As we journey from today to tomorrow
As we name others we care about before you
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
