As your Wednesday closes you are invited to pause and pray with others in our Church Family as we journey through this season of Advent

You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions for today from REVELATION 2 verses 1-7

You are encouraged to follow the pattern of P-R-A-Y which we have found to be a blessing from Lectio365/24-7 Prayer

P ause in God’s presence – acknowledge He is with you where you are

R ejoice in the blessings of this day He has given

A sk
for His help – for yourself and for a situation/person known to you at this time

Y ield to His Kingdom will for tomorrow – say yes!

Pause to Pray for Others

On this second Wednesday in Advent…as the nation and the world wrestles with new cases and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For children and young people in our community at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : REVELATION 2 verses 8-11

Meditation : consider these verses today as we pause with God
What is God saying to you about yielding to His ways from this passage?

And then pray in response – to this God of ours

O LORD our God,
Hear our morning prayers
Build your church
Make us strong.
In Jesus’ name we ask
Amen and amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the Leprosy Mission at work in Timor Leste
LORD, hear our prayers and give blessing real good we ask.

Evening

Reading : read these set verses again from REVELATION 2
Humbly reflect on what you read and then pray in response –
for yourself and for God’s Church at this time

LORD God, Father God, hear our many different prayers
As we thank you for your call on our lives
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Meditation : as we pause with God we consider what is said here to this church.
What do the verses teach you about yielding to God’s ways?

And then Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to pray for your own church family

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
I have read these words
And now I pray for you to work them out
as a living reality in my church life – even today
as I thank you that you are with us
on our journey through life.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
…..and respond to His voice….
Father God…thank you.

Evening

Reading : read the opening verses again from REVELATION 2
Reflect prayerfully on these words…. And then pray as your day closes

LORD God, our great God,
Thank you for being there with me
For all of today
I thank You,
Even for those things that have caused me fear and concern.
Give blessing to your Church in these days I ask.
Have mercy O Lord!
