Daily Devotions for Saturday 11th December, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : REVELATION chapter 4

Meditation : take time to consider these words as we pause with the Living God today.
Which words stay with you?

And then Pray in response to what you read – to this God of ours.

In Jesus’ name
We bow before You
Amen and Amen!

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer
As we yield to God’s Kingdom ways

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read REVELATION 4 again
Reflect on this God, your God, our God…. and then Call on Him in your evening Prayer

LORD God, our God, receive our praise
For who You are
For your help and protection even today
And as we give it all back to you
May you continue to reach and save people
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done across our world
In our community, in our city.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Advent Evening Prayer with Others

As your Friday closes you are invited to pause and pray with others in our Church Family as we journey through this season of Advent

You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions for today from REVELATION 2 verses 12-17

You are encouraged to follow the pattern of P-R-A-Y which we have found to be a blessing from Lectio365/24-7 Prayer

P ause in God’s presence – acknowledge He is with you where you are

R ejoice in the blessings of this day He has given

A sk for His help – for yourself and for a situation/person known to you at this time

Y ield to His Kingdom will for tomorrow – say yes!

Pause to Pray for Others

On this second Friday in Advent…as the nation and the world wrestles with the new variant and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For anxious families in our nation at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this particular time

Reading : REVELATION 2 verses 18-29

Meditation : as we pause with God we consider these words this morning.
The Church in Thyatira
What is God teaching/reminding you today?

And then Pray in response – as God leads you
Pray with confidence to our God to bless others in His Church in these days

Amen – we pray together.

Pray God’s blessing on the Leprosy Mission at work in Sri Lanka
Lord, hear our prayers and bless this work real good we ask.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done

Reading : read these particular verses again from REVELATION 2 verses 12-17
Reflect on the words spoken here – and what God is saying to you now.
Pray in response to this God we believe and trust in

O LORD, hear our evening prayers as this day closes
As we praise you for who You are
As we return our thanks to You.
As we humbly confess our sins
As we lay all we are and have before You
