Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading :   ACTS 8 verses 4-25

Meditation : take time and consider these events and words spoken.
What do they teach you about God’s Good News?
What is God’s Word to you this morning?

Take time to Pray in response to God’s Word as He leads you.  

In Jesus’ name,
Amen – we pray together.

Pray God’s blessings of love, joy and peace on the multicultural Church in N.America

Father God, have mercy and hear our prayers. 

Evening

Reading : read these verses again from Acts 8

Reflect on this part of God’s Word and pray in response to Him
for your church and the church worldwide in these days

Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers
And thank you that the Spirit is at work all over the world!

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : ACTS 8 verses 1-3

Meditation :   take time and consider how the Early Church was persecuted – and who by.   What words stay with you?
What group of churches do you know facing persecution today?

then pray in response – including for others known to you in our world

(Pray your own words to the LORD God
For what you have read,
For yourself and for others.) 

O Sovereign LORD, hear our prayers,
And by Your Holy Spirit sustain and protect those we name before you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday

Pray God’s blessings on those who serve as chaplains in our schools and work places.

O Father God, show mercy and hear our prayers.

Evening

Reading : read these few verses again

Reflect slowly on the words at the end of your day
and Pray in response to our God – for others in our world

O LORD, hear our evening prayers in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reading : ACTS 7 verses 54-60

Meditation : consider this morning what happens here – and why.
Ponder again verses 59 and 60.

then pray in response to the living and true God

O LORD God,
Loving and true,
God of hope beyond death,
God of judgment beyond death,
Thank you for these words
And all they teach me.
May my hope in You
Help me through this day on earth
And even reach another
I so pray
