Pray to hear and receive from God

Reading : JOHN 15 verses 18-25
Meditation :  take time to consider these words by Jesus
What do they say to you at this time? What do you have to do now?

Pray in response to this teaching
Lord Jesus
I read these words,
Teach me what it means for me to be your disciple
And how I should then live for You
In this world
Even this day.
Amen I pray.

Pray for all those grieving the loss of a loved one
O LORD God, hear our prayers and let your comfort flow we ask.

Evening

Reading : read verses 18-21 again

Reflect …. and pray to Jesus, our Lord
Amen and Amen we pray, O God

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : JOHN 15 verses 14-17
Meditation :   take time and consider these wonderful words by Jesus to His disciples…
What a friend we have in Jesus!

Pray in response to Him
O Lord,
Help us to make these words we read
A living reality…day by day…today,
With the help of Your Holy Spirit within us
For of ourselves we fail and fall
And let you down.
Amen we say together.

Take time to listen for the Lord to speak with you…..Friend to friend
Lord, thank you.

Evening

Reflect on these words again… and Pray in response, with thanksgiving

Words of worship and praise – for who God is
Words of trust and thanks – for what God has done today for you
Words of hope and longing – for what God will do in and through you – even tomorrow)

Meditation :  consider how the disciples would react to these words being said by Jesus to them
and what He is saying to you this day

Pray to the Lord Jesus, to have this peace from Him
Lord Jesus and Saviour,
Hear my prayer
Even today
And fill me with your peace
As I let go of anything that would take its place.
Amen I humbly ask.

Pray for Edinburgh and Scotland to experience God’s saving grace.
O LORD, have mercy and hear our prayers.

Meditation : consider the Person of the Holy Spirit and how He is at work in your life and your church at this time…….what is He to you??

and then pray in response to learn from Him more and more
Father God,
Hear my prayer this morning
And thank you for your indwelling Holy Spirit
In all us who believe!
Teach me more of Your wondrous truths
As promised by Jesus
And make these words living and true for me and my church
More and more!

Pray a blessing from God on those struggling with long term illness
Lord, hear my prayer and let Your compassion abound
