Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God

Reading :  Romans 8 verses 18-25
Meditation :  consider what these verses teach you……

Pray to God, that ‘His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven’
Faithful and loving and holy God,
Thank you for these verses.
Help me understand You more
And what You are doing in this world
And our hope for the world to come.
Amen.

Pray for our needy world in these times
Amen and Amen, O God.

Reflect on their meaning and then pray with hope!

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : Romans 8 verses 2-17
Meditation : take time and consider these words about Life through the Spirit

Pray in response…to keep in step with the Holy Spirit each and every day
Spirit of God
Fall anew on me
Break and melt and mould and fill me
All over again
From the inside out
And guide my daily steps
This day I pray
Amen…in Jesus’ Name.

Pray for those who feel hopeless
God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers.

Reflect on these words and then Pray in response to Abba Father
Father God, hear my evening prayer.

Meditation :  take time to consider the wondrous truths of this one verse
and what it means to be ‘in Christ Jesus’

Pray to know this truth as a reality in your heart, soul and mind
Lord Jesus
I read these words,
Teach me what it means for me to be in You
And how I should then live for You – even this day.

Pray for the work of the Scottish Bible Society, as they spread God’s Word
O LORD God, hear our prayers.

Meditation :   consider what is taught here about God’s Law…

Pray in response that His laws affect your lifestyle choices – day by day
O God of the Romans’ church,
Our God,
Help us to make these words we read
A living reality…day by day…today,
With the help of Your Holy Spirit within us.
Amen we say together.

Pray for those struggling with an addiction
Lord, hear my cry from deep within.

Evening

Reading : read verses 13-25 again

Reflect on these words again and Pray in response

Words of worship and praise – for who God is
Words of trust and thanks – for what God has done today for you
Words of hope and longing – for what God will do in and through you – even tomorrow)

Pray for Scotland to experience God’s saving grace afresh
God of mercy, hear our prayers!
