Daily Devotions for Monday 25th January, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : ROMANS 8 verses 26-30

Meditation : take time to consider these encouraging words your day starts.
The Spirit, our Helper.
What does this mean for you in daily living?

Then Pray to this Holy Spirit in response

Tell Him how you feel this morning
Give Him your day
Invite Him to lead and guide and use you

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on your neighbours at this time of the year
God of grace and mercy and rich blessing, hear our prayers we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from ROMANS 8
Reflect prayerfully on what you read and then pray to this God in response

Gracious and Helpful One, hear my evening prayers
As I lay myself and this world before you at the end of today
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Call to Sunday Evening Prayer

As part of our daily rhythm of Prayer and Devotion you are invited to pause and pray with others as your day closes.

You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions for today from ROMANS 5 vs 1-11.

You may need to name others before Father God.

You may want to be still with our God as you look back on your day and prepare for a new week.

Pause to Pray with Others

On this particular Sunday..as the nation journeys through this further stage of Lockdown.. you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and neighbours

For all Churches in our city at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff in our city

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

Daily Devotions for Sunday 24th January, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : ROMANS 5 verses 1-11

Meditation : take time and consider this passage this particular Sunday morning.
Put Right with God.
What does it mean for you today?
What is God teaching you from His written Word?

And then pray in response – using verse 11 as you turn to prayer

O God of amazing saving grace
We bow before you
We believe in you
We trust in you
We thank you for sending Jesus
To die in our place
My place
That we might be put right with you
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Thank you, our Lord and God most high,
for your constant love every morning and your faithfulness each night,
for all you have done that rejoices our hearts:
you have taught us your wisdom, you have blessed us in our worship,
you have given us happiness, you have kept us safe,
you have strengthened us through the passing years.
Lord, we trust in your mercy and protection:
thank you, Lord. Amen

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from ROMANS 5
Reflect on the words written here by Paul and then Pray in response to this God

O LORD, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for the blessings of this Sunday
As we believe and trust in you – Saviour God
As we pilgrimage on into tomorrow
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
