Daily Devotions for Saturday 23rd May, 2020

Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture
You are invited to pray with us at 12 noon each day

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : MATTHEW 7 verses 7-12

Meditation : take the time to consider these words from Jesus this Saturday morning.
What are you encouraged and challenged by?
Which words stay with you as your day starts?

And then take time to Pray in response to this God
Ask Him!
Seek Him
Knock on heaven’s door
Receive from Him!

Amen we pray together this new day.

Midday
The TKC daily theme today is THANKS
Pray with thanksgiving for the gifts God has given you this past week

O God, receive our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving this day!
In Jesus’ name
Amen

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from MATTHEW 7.7-12
Reflect on the words…. and then Pray in response to what you have read

O LORD our God, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you for today
For those you have met with
Even today
Thy Kingdom Come
Thy will be done
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reading : MATTHEW 6 verses 9-15

Meditation : take time and consider all that is said here by Jesus about Prayer
Which words of His stay with you?
What is your response to Him?

Then pause to Pray to this Father God of ours in response
Including for others on a journey praying with God at this time

O Father God,
I read these words.
Help me let the Holy Spirit work out these truths
Even today.
May you guide and bless others
At this time in their lives
As they turn to you in prayer
Even today

Amen – we pray together.

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : MATTHEW 6 verses 5-8

Meditation : take time and consider this part of Jesus’ teaching on prayer this morning.
What are you encouraged and challenged by today?

And then pray in response – as your day starts
including for others in need known to you at this time

(Pray your own words to the LORD God first)

And then together we pray….

O LORD,
God who hears our prayers,
O make us more like Jesus we ask.
Have mercy and hear our cry this morning
For others
For family
For neighbours and colleagues
For ourselves
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reading : 1 JOHN 5 verses 14 and 15

Meditation : slowly consider these words this morning
What is God teaching you today?
What will you ask Him for?

Then pray in response to this God of ours
Ask…..Seek…..Knock………Receive…….

O LORD our God,
These are our morning prayers
In Jesus’ name
Amen and amen.

Pray God’s blessing on those in need of knowing God’s comfort at this time
O LORD, hear our prayers and be near them we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from 1 JOHN 5
Reflect on the words you read and then pray in response

LORD God, merciful God, our God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for all you have provided this day
As we thank you for your guiding hand this day
As we lay our requests before you
