Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : ROMANS chapter 15 verses 18-21

Meditation : take time and consider this passage this Monday morning.
Paul’s Reasons.
What words stay with you?
What are your plans for today?

Then Pray with your own words in response to the LORD our God

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done

As you step into today
As you plan for tomorrow

In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the Church in Scotland
God of grace and mercy and rich blessing, hear our prayers we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from ROMANS chapter 15 verses 18-21
Reflect on what you read and then pray to our God in response

Praise the LORD!

The LORD takes pleasure in his people;
he honours the humble with victory.
Let God’s people rejoice in their triumph
and sing joyfully all night long.

And so to you, O God, we bring our evening words of prayer
As we look back on today
As we step into tomorrow
In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Thy Kingdom Come – Offer revisited

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture earlier this year – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world!

Each Sunday at Midday we are re-visiting one of the 11 daily themes….and this time we revisit the theme of OFFERas we watch and listen with others on this Sunday….

Reading : ROMANS chapter 15

Meditation : take time and consider these words written by Paul this Sunday morning.
Pleasing Others.
Paul’s Plans.
What is God teaching/reminding you about His ways?
What words stay with you?

And then pray in response to this God of encouragement
– noting again the words of verses 1-6 as you turn to prayer
For yourself and for others

O God of patience and encouragement
We bow before you
We believe in you
We trust in you
We name others before you
In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Lord, we thank You for our founder, Paul
We thank You for his wisdom and resolve
Help us to understand the intricacy
Of his message, and to follow You as a Christian Nation
Built from the ‘nations’.
In Jesus’ name
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from ROMANS chapter 15
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response to this God

Reading : ROMANS chapter 14 verses 17-19

Meditation : take the time to consider these words this Saturday morning.
The Kingdom of God.
What is your response to God’s written Word today?

And then take time to Pray with Praise in response to this God

Praise the LORD
For who He is
For His eternal Kingdom
For His kingdom mercy to us
To others
O help us seek first His Kingdom

In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen
