Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : 1 JOHN chapter 2 verses 15-17

Meditation : take time to consider these few verses this morning.
What are you encouraged and challenged by?
What is your response to God’s Word today?

Take time to Pray in response

O God of love and grace,
As I read these words
Help me believe
And trust in You
Oh show mercy in these days we call out
And help us to be a people
More like Jesus
And less like the world
In Jesus’ name.
Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who have become recently unemployed
Father God, hear our prayers, have mercy and pour out blessings we ask

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from 1 John 2
Reflect on the way God has led you in this day
and pray in response to Him – with honesty
and for our world in these days
Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers
As we return our sacrifice of praise
As we bring ourselves to you at the end of this day.
As we name others before You.
As we call out to you for this world
Amen.

Reading : 1 JOHN 2 verses 1-14

Meditation : take time and consider what is said here – as your day starts.
How would you describe your relationship with Father God today?

And then pray in response as your day starts
Looking again at verses 1 and 2

(Pray your own words to the LORD God
In worship and thanks for what you have read,
In confession and need to be more like Jesus,
And for others known to you at this time in a hard place.)

O LORD of grace and truth,
Receive our morning praise and hear our prayers.
Forgive our sins
As we forgive those who have sinned against us
We ask in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

O LORD, hear our prayers and pour out a blessing we ask on each and all

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from 1 John 2
Reflect on these words again at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of ours

And cleanse me afresh

O LORD, have mercy and bless them we ask this day.
