Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : ROMANS chapter 15

Meditation : take time and consider these words written by Paul this Sunday morning.
Pleasing Others.
Paul’s Plans.
What is God teaching/reminding you about His ways?
What words stay with you?

And then pray in response to this God of encouragement
– noting again the words of verses 1-6 as you turn to prayer
For yourself and for others

O God of patience and encouragement
We bow before you
We believe in you
We trust in you
We name others before you
In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Lord, we thank You for our founder, Paul
We thank You for his wisdom and resolve
Help us to understand the intricacy
Of his message, and to follow You as a Christian Nation
Built from the ‘nations’.
In Jesus’ name
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from ROMANS chapter 15
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response to this God

O God of patience and encouragement

Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to pause and listen for God’s answer to you

I call to the LORD for help;
I plead with him.
I bring him all my complaints;
I tell him all my troubles.

I hand over to Him my plans for today
His Kingdom come
His will be done

Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask, seek, knock….hear!
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read ROMANS 15 verses 22-29 again – in another version?
Reflect on the words…. and then Pray….to the LORD our God

And then take the time to Pray in response to what you have read
Pausing. Waiting. Asking. Seeking. Receiving.

I wait eagerly for the LORD’s help,
and in his word I trust.
I wait for the Lord
more eagerly than sentries wait for the dawn—
than sentries wait for the dawn.

In Jesus’ name we pray together
Amen.

Pray God’s blessing on the work of TEARFUND in our world
O LORD, hear our prayers and use this work real good we ask – even today.

Evening

Reflect afresh on the words here
And then take the time to Pray in response to what you have read
